Where Emma Griggs came from...

Today I started to consider my chosen artists and works to include within my research file. In doing this I referred back to ideas from my final major project in my Foundation year. I had printed lace onto delicate papers, layering my work using stitch and beaded embelleshments, which i then folded into origami pieces and attatched them together to produce a hanging structure formed around the shapes of the architecture which I had seen on my visit to China.

I believe it is important to research and draw from first hand experiences, which coincides with my love of traveling, in order to eplore different cultures and themes within my work.

My design was partially inspired by the collage wallpapers by Clare Coles and i would like to work with a similar approach in my designs for the bloom brief because i think it will clearly reflect the beauty and structure of plantlife.

(P.S my next task it to work out how to move the pictures around so they dont look so silly!!!)
